I needed to step down from my permanent position last year as my mum needed assisted care and had several operations that she was told had to be done. Each time she went into hospital it was necessary to be with her as we lost my dad 7 years ago and Mum was 80 and I was her support carer and next of kin. She is still waiting for one more operation so I am still a casual employee I know that January to March is a quiet time in child care as I saw this last year while still a permanent. However from mid April I was getting a minimum of 3 days and some
weeks I worked all 5 days.
Today management sent out an email to all employees stating that due to the Coronavirus and the downturn of children in care resulting in all the casuals will not be used as they defer to their full time staff throughout all the centres.
